南方は陽の氣の極まりと位置付けられました。熱は火を生み、火は苦味を生むとされています。色では赤、五蔵では心を示します。また陽の氣が一番多いため、動きそのものを表します。

The South was positioned as the pinnacle of yang energy. Heat produces fire, and fire produces bitterness. In color, it is red, and in the Five Treasures, it represents the heart. Also, as it has the most yang energy, it represents movement itself.
