21＊「西方、燥を生ず」−『素問』陰陽應象大論篇第五。
西方は、南方（火）にて陽が極まった後の陰への転化、つまり陰の始まりとして位置となります。季節でいえば秋、味は辛、五蔵は肺、体の部位では皮毛とあり、皮毛とは皮膚と体毛のことです。人体の一番上のこの部分は、非常に鋭敏に出来ており、目に見えない様々な情報を無意識に感知しています。例えば、人から向けられる視線や感情などをも捉え、無自覚に疲弊してしまうこともあります。

The West is the location where yang transforms into yin after reaching its peak in the south (fire), that is, the beginning of yin. In terms of season, it is autumn, the taste is spicy, the five organs are the lungs, and in terms of body parts, it is hair, which refers to the skin and body hair. This part at the top of the human body is very sensitive and unconsciously senses various invisible information. For example, it can sense the gazes and emotions directed at it by others, and can become exhausted without realizing it.
